I have a little bit of an obsession with foundations, always on the search for the perfect base. I've never really had much luck with drugstore foundations, but regardless, I still keep buying them in the hope that one day, I'll find my true love! Well, with Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation, I think I may have just found it. It gives medium coverage, lasts all day on my normal to dehydrated skin and matches perfectly with my pale skin.
I first read about Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation on a few other blogs, so decided to give it a go when it was first launched and on offer in Boots; I always love a good bargain! I bought it online, so totally guessed the shade, but I'd say Rimmel Lasting Finish in 100 Ivory matches my NC15-20 skin perfectly and blends in with little effort.
With foundations, I either find them too heavy or too lightweight that they don't cover my pesky uneven skin. At the moment, my skin is at the best it's looked for years thanks to my amazing new skincare regime (coming soon!), so I my usual Estee Lauder Double Wear is too heavy and other foundations I've tried which are designed to give a lighter coverage don't last well on my skin. Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation certainly gives a medium coverage, light to begin with, but buildable over those places you need it most. And, at the end of the day (alongside my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer), the foundation is still immaculate and my skin feels hydrated, fresh and natural.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation contains a SPF 20, although I still use my Ultrasun Facial SPF (review coming soon!) and texture wise, it is a lightweight, fluid with a gel like texture. I honestly cannot rave about it enough and after coming to the end of my first bottle, quickly rushed out to Boots to pick up another three bottles! In comparison to my usual high end foundations, three bottles on 3 for 2 only cost a small £15.98, coming in at £7.99 a bottle.
I'm still a foundation addict and I will continue to buy and try more, but it will definitely take a lot to match Rimmel's Lasting Finish Nude Foundation.
