The Lipstick Tag

Reading through Bloglovin' I came across the Lipstick Tag on Aztec Mess' blog, which I really fancied taking part in. I don't own hundreds of lipsticks like some amazing beauty bloggers, but I own a few nice shades and finishes that I wanted to share with you.

1. How many lipsticks do you own?
22. I like lipsticks, but don't love them. Half the time I forget to apply them before I go out and to be honest, these day, I don't really go out enough to warrant wearing lipstick! I am not one to nip to my local shops in a hot pink lipstick, I am certainly not brave enough!

2. What was the first lipstick you owned?
Oh, I really don't remember! So nothing memorable. Possibly something from Claire's or Miners or maybe even a hand me down from my nan or gran. I think there was a brand called Charlie in the 90's. I think I had a few of those lipsticks too.

From my collection now, as photoed, the first lipstick I bought was the Bourjois Brillant A Levres Lip Shine in 06 Rose Balneaire. Although I've had it that long, that I don't think they stock this style anymore!

3. What is your favourite lipstick brand?
Many moons ago, when I had a full time job and earned a decent wage, it was Chanel but now, with Chanel prices creeping up and up, I think I'd have to say Smashbox, especially the Mega Tints which I have reviewed here.

4. What is your most worn lipstick?
My most worn lipstick is probably Chanel's English Rose 48. It's s gorgeous, glossy and hydrating pink, which just gives my lips a hint of colour.

5. What is your favourite finish?
I really love the Clarins Lipsticks based on the finish. They're quite hydrating, but they stay on for a long time and give a lovely, pigmented and rich finish. I bought these in a test sample sale, unused, but would definitely splash out on the real thing.

6. What was the last lipstick you bought?
It was my Bobbi Brown lipstick in Crushed Plum. Although since buying it, I'm not sure if it's too much for my pale complexion and I'm not keep on the way it wears. It leaves a line around the edge of my lips and wears from in the middle.

7. How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?
I keep in my bag my carmex, my Smashbox Mega Tint in Cerise and Chanel's Paparazzi.

Clarins - Clarins Red

8. What is your favourite red lip colour?
The only two red lipsticks I own are from Smashbox in Cerise and from Clarins in Clarins Red. The Clarins Red is definitely my favourite, a rich and proper red. It's glossy, but wears well and stayed on recently through a three course meal!

9. How do you store your lipsticks?
I store them in a four draw plastic container, away from light and heat. Although all of my MAC lipsticks have snapped and melted which I don't understand. My Chanel lipsticks have been stored in the same way, yet these are in an immaculate condition.

10. Which lipsticks are you currently lusting after?
I love Dior and YSL lipsticks, they are divine! I am also lusting over various colours in the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick. They're all gorgeous and look fabulous on the swatches I've seen.
