Colgate's latest launch, the Max White One Optic Toothpaste* is designed to instantly brighten and whiten your teeth, even after one use. The blue pigments (optic brighteners), leave an invisible sheen on your teeth, reflecting blue light, making your teeth look brighter.

I have been using the same brand of toothpaste for years and years and don't normally switch and change as I thought my current toothpaste offered me what I needed. When I was contacted and asked whether I'd like to try out the new Colgate Max White One Optic Toothpaste, I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did.

The toothpaste is an unusual blue/grey colour with little dark blue flecks in (the optic brighteners) and is a gel like texture. You literally need the smallest amount in order to produce sufficient foam to clean your teeth; I was surprised how much the product did foam up in comparison to my usual toothpaste. The taste is amazing and probably my favourite thing about the toothpaste! It's a gorgeous spearmint flavour which isn't too hot or overpowering and it leaves a lovely, fresh scent after brushing.

With regards to the brightening and whitening properties, I can't really say, after a few weeks of use, that I have noticed a huge difference. I think my teeth possibly look glossier, but I think this comes down to the fact that it has cleaned my teeth more efficiently than my current toothpaste.

It's currently on offer at Boots for £2.24, so I will be picking up another tube whilst it's so cheap. The usual RRP is £4.49 which as a student, is a little out of my price range for a toothpaste, so I will keep looking out for it when it's on offer!
