Super Facialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Clean Pore Purifying Clay Mask

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Clean Pore Purifying Clay Mask (£8.99) is designed to clean and clear your skin of dirt, oils and toxins, all of which can lead to breakouts. It contains Salicylic Acid which can help to reduce breakouts, alongside avocado oil and Acacia Honey.

After reading so many fantastic reviews regarding the Super Facialist range and Una Brennan, I couldn't resist purchasing a few of her products to try out. Over the last year, I have been a huge fan of the Origins Clear Improvement mask, but at £23 a tube, it was time to try investing in a few cheaper products to put to the test. Skin type wise, I have normal/dry/dehydrated skin which is prone to breakouts and acne. I use these sorts of mask sparingly, once a week to help reduce any blemishes and to almost detoxify my skin.

The formulation of the clay mask from the Super Facialist range is different in comparison to the Origins mask, but it dries to a similar finish and I find I need to use around the same amount of product to cover my face and jaw. The smell of this is one thing I really can't get used to; it is very overpowering (I think it is the tea flower) and lingers for a while until the mask starts to dry. It doesn't bother me as such, but I prefer products that don't contain as much scent as this.

After removing the mask, my skin feels fresh and purified, without it lacking any moisture (although a good dollop of face cream is always needed after a hot shower). Using once a week, especially concentrating on my jaw which is where most of my acne crops up, I do find it helps to reduce the redness of any blemishes and gives my skin a real deep down clean, as does the Origins Clear Improvement Mask.

Comparing the two, they are very similar and for £14.01 cheaper, I think in the future, I will definitely opt for the Super Facialist option. I still have around 2 -3 tubes of the Origins mask left (opps, nothing like Boots Advantage Card events to draw me in!), but this will soon become a firm favourite which will always be at hand in my beauty cabinet!
