A-Derma Epitheliale AH Cream
After a cold winter which left my skin in a bad condition and after applying too much Duac Gel, leaving my skin red, sore and irritated, I went on a search for something that would soothe my dry skin without breaking it out or leaving it too oily. Seeing as this cream is only £6.25 from Boots I can't really say I expected an awful lot, especially as I hadn't really heard of the brand before, but after using the cream for most of the winter, I really can't believe I hadn't tried it earlier!
The Epitheliale AH Cream is quite thick which a creamy texture. It sinks into your skin extremely easy and after a few minutes, has completely dried down without leaving any residue. It smells quite wheaty, almost a little of porridge oats; but the scent doesn't linger too long - I actually find the oaty smell quite pleasant. For a cream that is designed to sooth and nourish, I would have expected Epitheliale AH to leave my skin feeling quite greasy, but it doesn't at all. Because it sinks in so well, it also works as a great base for makeup, although I find it doesn't work well if layering two or three products such as a serum and primer. When using with other products, it seems to peel off my skin. Alone though, I don't experience any peeling, but because of this, prefer to limit usage to nighttime.
A-Derma say that the Epitheliale AH Cream is great for people who have had recent laser treatment or after a chemical peel - why on earth I wasn't recommended this cream whilst I was on Roaccutane, I have no idea as I think it would have been perfect.
Overall, I have absolutely adored this cream and as a huge Origins fan, have to say that this is better and more nourishing than some of their £30 pots of cream! It is definitely worth picking up next time you're passing through Boots if you find yourself suffering from irritated or sensitive skin. It would also be perfect for those suffering from Acne who are using harsh prescription treatments that can dry and irritate the skin such as Duac Gel to replenish the lost moisture and soothe any redness. It can be purchased from Boots for £6.25 and French pharmacies or websites such as Escentual.
