Smashbox Photo Set Finishing Powder | £18 | Boots
I'm always searching for new powders to keep my makeup on for longer and to set my foundation. Suffering from dehydrated skin, I don't like a powder that's too heavy.
The powder is completely transparent on your skin and feels and looks very lightweight. The powder itself is extremely silky and soft, soaking up any excess oil on your skin throughout the day, setting your liquid foundation and apparently, blurring any fine lines. It also contains an SPF 15 which is great!
I've been using the powder for sometime now and really enjoying it. My foundation does seem to last a lot longer on my skin, especially lighter-weight foundations and any shine that I get from my moisturiser and foundation is diminished, without drying out my skin or making any dry areas look worse.
If you've tried/heard/seen the Prep and Prime Transparent Finishing Powder from MAC, this is very similar, but £2 cheaper (and you get more product for your money), plus, I much prefer the texture of this powder.

This sounds really great, definitely tempted to purchase as I have really been noticing my foundation isn't lasting that long and I never have time to touch up at lunch! Thank you for a great review :)

Yes, it works really well in preserving foundation - mine lasts all day with a light dusting of this. I alternate between this and the Smashbox Halo powder, but it gets too expensive to use every day.

I've tried my fair share of translucent powders, I've currently got a one in one out policy, I'm using the Laura mercier one at the minute, it's just okay nothing too amazing I do prefer lose powders to pressed though I think they look more natural this ones been on my wishlist for ages and I think your review just sold me defo one to try once my LM finishes x

I really should take up the one in one out policy as I seem to hoard everything! I like something, stockpile on it and stop liking it before I've got through my stash... I've only ever tried the concealer from LM which I did really like.

I love the sounds of this finishing powder. I’m such a fan of translucent powders instead of adding more pigment. This sounds like it would be really good for under the eye as well.

Yes, so do I, especially with my double wear! It can end up looking like I've used a whole bottle of foundation on my face, not a good look!
